My name is Linda Jones (she/her).
I am a Perinatal Support Worker (PNSW), which means I provide support to people through pregnancy, labour & birth, and up to one year postpartum.
A prerequisite to being accepted into the PNSW program offered at Mohawk College is to be a certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) from a recognized college. I graduated with honours from George Brown in 2021.
There is a lot of overlap in what I do, with what a full spectrum doula does - but some of the differences can be found in our educational backgrounds, plus PNSWs have a broader scope, due to our PSW certificates.
Helping people and supporting people is my passion! I have been told I am very nurturing, soothing, and gentle. I provide support from a non-judgemental, trauma-informed, intersectional feminist lens.
