Julia Slanina is a graduate of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA). Her degrees led her to work in the foreign service. Because she loved health and science, she made a career change and started medical school. After one year of studies, she left to take care of her mother, before she lost her battle to cancer. Julia became a mother when her mother was terminally ill, and this experience showed her the need to improve community healthcare for children and families across Canada by bringing together trusted and expert resources. I designed Treehouse with the intent to promote positive parenting, streamline health information and build a stronger degree of engagement in the Canadian medical network.
